Emerald City Rattery 

Welcome to our new rattery here in beautiful Colorado Springs, CO. My name is Jennifer and I have been in love with animals most of my life. I got my first rat when I was 11yrs old. Then did not have any more till I was 16. Got a male and a female and learned pretty quick you should only get same sex pairs! After having several litters. I finally separated the two and ended up with 4 rats. Two males and two females. After those pets. I graduated high school and went into the Army. Spent 9 years active, inactive and reserve time. Then in 2009 I rescued a rat that was not very friendly and since then I discovered hairless and wanted one. While looking on the internet. Found Camarattery and got my first hairless and many others lol. I have been in love with rats and learned that they can't live alone and need a healthy diet and lots of toys. I have been dedicated in making my rats as happy as I can through play and healthy diet.

Currently I am not a full fledged breeder. In fact I do not have my own lines to breed from. I am Amy of Camarattery's good friend and breeding assistant. Almost every month I take some of her breeding pairs to my home and do the breeding's for her. And I return the parents and litters to her when the babies are about 4 weeks old. This way all her babies get super socialized! She breeds and raises some and I do some.

I am not ready to start breeding on my own just yet. And I am really enjoying my "partnership" with Amy. So I am unsure when I will start breeding on my own. However this gives me the experience I need with breeding. So you can say I am being mentored until then.
